Thoughts of SPICA-COCO
For 35 years since its establishment in 1987, Spica Coco has been developing products with the desire to be close to people suffering from atopic or sensitive skin and to make their lives a little easier.

First, we wondered if the laundry detergents we normally use might also have an effect on our skin. At the time of our founding, the only major options for laundry detergents were “petroleum-based synthetic detergents” and “soaps. We wondered if we could create a detergent made from plants that was easier to use and consumed less fat and oil than soap, and based on this concept, we developed Spica Coco.

At the time, Dr. Nonomura, who spent his days treating allergies in his pediatric department (now the director of NODOKO Clinic), felt that this unknown detergent was somewhat sincere and dreamy, and had it tested on his patients. The results showed improvement in many patients. When we saw the results, this feeling turned into a conviction.

Over the past 35 years, we have received feedback from many people and have been working to develop products that reflect their voices and reach as many people as possible. Today, many of our customers are repeat customers, and through word-of-mouth referrals, we are able to connect with new customers, and our products are now carried in stores throughout Japan.

We will continue to be a company that is close to people who are suffering from skin problems, aiming to be a brand that can be used by people all over the world.
